DS650 Won't Charge Battery/Bog issue?
I do belive a new battery is in order after you install it test your voltage and it should be 12.6 0r so then start it and it should be 13.2- 13.6 it it dose this you will be alright. If it don't then install the rectifier.Im inclined to belive it is a bad or weak battery's you have at the moment. The ds demands a good amount of power and if you install a sudstandard battery it will not hold up.And motorcycle battery responds to slow charging way better then a quick charge and normaly a quick hi amp charge will kill them fast !!!!

No and if you have a good battery i belive your problems will be solved. msintainers are good if you let the bike set for long periods of time but as long as you have no shorts in the system it is not needed. And once you install the new battery you can check for shorts by turning everything on the bike off remove the ground cable from the battery gentaly strike it aginst the negative post if it makes a spark check to see if everything is off then try again if it still sparks you have a closed corcute some where and you should address the problem. If it dose not spark at all reconnect your battery and go to bed knowing your bikes electrical system is fine. This is best done in a darker area so you can see or hear the spark if its shorted.
