I have a 2001 Traxter 500 quad that will not start via the electric start--replaced the starter to hear the same "spinning" noise. Seems to catch a touch every so after--I figured it was the starter teeth, but it isn't. I can coil start it pretty easily, but the coil does not always grab either. Any advice is appreciated..

 

the problem is the one way clutch inside.is a big job,you have to remove the complete rear axle and remove the back of the engine cover.it is common on those traxter once they get old.
