Default can am two up

I'm looking for a two up and the local dealer has a new 07 Outlander max 400 and wants $5300 out the door includes tax and reg. What do you think of the machine and the price. My only concern is it being a 400.

Thumbs up Buy!

$5300 OTD - that's a great deal - I would take it! And don't worry about the power. I had a 2005 400 MAX XT and it had all the power I wanted and more, including the power to push a 60" snow plow through deep snow. (Also, the data shows that the 400 is a high output motor with as much juice as a lot of 500 cc machines.) I sold it last Fall for $7,000, and the buyer would have paid $7500, but I gave her a discount because she was a friend.

Default Good Machine

I have a 2008 Outlander 800 Max Ltd. Obviously, it has plenty of power and I would imagine the 400 does also. However, what is more important than power is it handling. If you are the type that jumps on it and do a hundred miles a day you probably don't care about handling. However, if you put it in the mud, do steep grades, work wooded areas and other technical stuff it excels.

I almost never use the second seat but the extra length makes for makes a smoother ride.

Thumbs up Good deal

It sounds like a really good deal to me, also. As said before, the 400cc puts out about as much power as alot of the 500cc machines. You'll like how the 2-up machine rides too. Great on steep hills where regular wheelbases fear to tread. The only drawback to a 2-up machine in my mind is a loss of center breakover angle. You might scrape a little where a regular wheelbase just makes it.
