Default 2010 Outlanders

I'm waiting for the 2010s to come out to see what CanAm has to offer. I'm really hoping to see power steering, split brakes, more powerful headlights, and a stronger frame on the big Outlanders. I wish they would also add a back-up light as standard equipment. I'm surprised that no one has come out with one . I had put one on my old quad and it saved me from backing over a steep bank when I was turning around in thick bush at night. Does anyone have any information on what CanAm will be changing/adding?

I just got this email. I think this is also up on Can-Am's website.

Never have the reasons for the ATV enthusiast to get excited about a Can-Am product been stronger than in this year's ATV line-up. Can-Am ATVs always features the most power, sharpest handling and best design in the industry, and now, BRP brings new technologies that inject unprecedented value through innovation into ATV riding. Here's a sneak peak, just for you...
Can-Am ATV is introducing an electric power steering system that is the most innovative in the industry. Dynamic Power Steering (DPS) is not only speed sensitive, but also allows the rider to select on-the-fly from two assist level modes (MAX and MIN).
All of the Outlander XT packages with V-Twin engine will be equipped with DPS. Plus, each will offer new quicker engaging, Visco-Lok QE automatic front differential! And, we are introducing a new package for the Outlander models: the XT-P Package adds even more options to our Rec-Ute line-up.
We’re also equipping the Outlander MAX LTD with another innovative industry-first: Air Controlled Suspension system (ACS). This suspension lets riders make adjustments while riding to the preload level of the rear Fox Racing Shox-built shocks with an on-board compressor. Moreover, the LTD models also come with an air hose that can be used to fill the tires out on the trail!
“Our brand is more than ever poised to give the consumer what they demand most right now: value and innovation,” said Yves Leduc, vice-president and general manager, North American Sales & Marketing Can-Am and After-Sales Operations. “In 2010, BRP brings exclusive technologies to the industry and strengthens its position as the brand that continues to innovate, while delivering on its promise as the choice for the ATV enthusiast,” he added.
BRP's Can-Am products provide innovation not only through its technologies, but through its value-added packages as well. For 2010, enthusiast's favorite options in the XTTM and the new XT-P packages that include items like DPS, winch, premium tires and wheels, and front and rear bumpers, result in unprecedented value for the discerning customer.
"In 2010, BRP once again proves to the world that the product is king," said Chris Dawson, vice-president and general manager, BRP International division. "Can Am provides greater power, better control and even more stunning looks than ever with its 2010 ATVs. It is what we believe ATV enthusiasts are looking for."

BRP DEBUTS SEVERAL MODEL CHANGES AND TECHNOLOGIES IN ITS 2010 CAN-AM ATV LINE, INCLUDING:
Air-Controlled Suspension (ACS) – The OutlanderTM 800R MAX EFI LTD and new for 2010 Outlander 500 MAX EFI LTD come with the industry's first adjustable air-controlled suspension. The compressor that activates the six-position, rider-selectable ACS system can also be used to fill tires while on the trail.
Dynamic Power Steering (DPS) – The new Can-Am DPS system is sensitive to vehicle speed. It automatically provides more assist at lower speeds and less assist with more feedback through the handlebars at higher speeds. However, DPS is unique in that it also allows the rider to select on-the-fly from two assist level modes. All DPS-equipped models come with the revised, quicker-engaging Visco-Lok QE front differential.
XT-P Package – Gives the rider all the industry-exclusive Outlander XT package features, but adds even more value with painted plastic and package-exclusive cast-aluminum wheels.

Outlander Cast-Aluminum Wheels – Nearly all Can-Am Outlander ATVs come with premium cast-aluminum wheels. This gives Can-Am the most models in the industry with this premium look.

RenegadeTM 800R X xc – The new Renegade package for the serious trail rider comes with a host of features never seen before on a 4x4 ATV: full beadlock wheels, premium suspension, dual-mode DPS power steering and a front sway bar making it the ultimate cross-country package.
More Outlander 650 Power – A revised calibration on the Rotax® 650 EFI powerplant help generate seven-percent more power than last year’s engine to further enhance its position as the most powerful production ATV below 800cc.

As per manufacturer’s official MY09 declaration to the Air Resource Board.
With the addition of new technologies, more power and the best value for one’s money, BRP is poised to meet the needs of any ATV enthusiast in 2010. From the Outlander to the Renegade and from DS 450TM EFI and new T14 recommended and Youth ATV there is a Can-Am ATV model for anyone who is passionate about riding. I'm probably going to buy two 2010 Outlander MAX 800's. Thanks for the power steering. I didn't want to go with Yamaha or Polaris, I'm a Can-Am guy with a wife that demanded power steering. So, for me, Can-Am has a new customer coming.

Well instead of buying a 2010 then having to upgrade to go faster I'm just going with the turbo setup, cheaper and up to 120 hp on demand, a better choice for me I think.

I see that the units for the Can-Ams are not (yet?) available. I have emailed them for an ETA, but does anyone else know anything about them?

Smile 2010 Outlander

I called them. Once in December (they'll be out in 3 months) amd this spring (soon). My mechanic called them and was impressed with their description on how it was installed and how it works. I guess we just have to wait. If they wait much longer the season will be over and no one will buy one until late winter!

Question Should I make the Switch

Hey Can am rider's,
Looking in to buying an Outlander 800, currently have 07 800 Sportsman with 1500 trouble free mile's beside's all the maintenance. I am really intrigued by these machine's engineering, only thing I notice is the frame. Can you guy's and girl's give me some feedback about how your machine's are performing.I know I can buy skid's to remedy most of the frame issue. I want a better trail riding machine than the sportsman.

It has a great ride, but high speed trail riding it push's like a tank in the turn's, no matter what I try, adjusting camber, different tire's

Thank's, in advance for any feedback
