Default Oil level issue!

Well I decided to change the oil and put in some amsoil. I removed the oil tank drain plug and only 1/2 a cup or so came out if that, pulled the crankcase drain and that was where the rest of the oil was. Since I got the bike last month I have checked the oil religiously prior to riding(every other day or so) and the tank was always at the proper level, then overnight this occured, what should I look for?

Thnx

did you run it before changing the oil. Sometimes the oil will drain back into the crankcase overnight.

I couldnt start her up as the damn battery wouldnt start the beast, again. Even though this is supposedly a new battery(per the seller) there is either an issue there or with the charging/regulation system. Time to break out the multimeter I guess.

Yes I removed and cleaned the screen while the tank was empty. I finally got my 45 pilot and filled the oil to max level, started her up and all seems well. The local stealership mechanic said that oil bleed back into the crankcase can and does happen occasionally, it had me worried something major had failed internally!
