There is not a whole bunch of choice for oil filters. I bought my last ones from Rocky Mountain Atv - Tusk brand - a fair bit cheaper then the dealer. i have been using Koltz 10W40 oil - on suggestion from Mr Horse Power after i installed the 730 big bore kit.

use a scotts stainless filter. a bit pricey but all you have to do is sprat with brake cleaner & blow it out. have been useing mine for 5 years and i do 4-5 oil changes a year. they are about $80.00 well worth it i think.

Dont forget to remove the return hose at the oil tank, there is a screen there thats inside,it usually gets very dirty.
Renmove the clamp, then pull the hose(makes a mess watch it)then use a deep socket to remove the fitting, you will see what I mean!!!!

No! its part of the fitting, just remove the fitting and the screen will be attached to it,use a deep 3/4 socket.
happy wrenching!!!
By the way,I learned that trick here!
