they fail often, and you wont gain any performance from it.

there was also problems with them being to advanced down low and it would cause the sprag clutch come out. which is pricy.

I ran one for over 2 years in the dunes and that was hard, fast riding. Mine held up just fine and it definitely gave a performance boost. I gained a ton of distance going up Sand Mountain Utah when I went from the Stock to Procom CDI. Most people claim that they have trouble with them but let's put it this way, I had a my Big Gun die on me and the Procom never had an issue.

this just my 2 cents i would just go with the woods cdi brother that way no worries at all i would just keep a eye out someone has always got a one on the forsale listings , but which ever way you go u will see better performance than the low rev limit on the stock cdi

Default Noooooooooooooooooooooo!

Don't do it!
it cost me $450 in repairs. it does advance timing which causes kick back on the starter and sprag gears. I would recommend the Ron woods which never gave me a problem on my second DS.

I do agree that the Woods box is your best bet for quality and price.

I've never heard of anyone having an issue with the Big Gun until just now. I've had five of them and the three that I currently have have ran issue free for four years. With the set-ups I've ran I felt like the BG offered more for my mods and riding style than the Wood one that I had did. Have never run a Procom myself but have always heard of trouble from them, can't confirm nor deny myself.
Don't know what the RWR CDI goes for nowadays but you can ge tthe Big Gun for around $125. Vortec is supposed to be good if you can afford them...

keep in mind the RWR cdi has no rev limit at all, not a big deal unless you let some dolt ride your quad and rev to the moon for no good reason...
I have a RWR cdi, been using it for nearly 10 years now and zero complaints
