I have been told by a couple of people that the K&N jet kit was the same thing as the Dynojet kit with the K&N name on it. This being true you can save about $15 by buying the K&N kit.

To answer your question yes I think it is worth the money for the parts you get. For example, I would get 8 main jets, 1 needle valve, 1 e-clip, 1 spring, and 1 spacer for the 2000 Kodiak. This is a lot of pieces for $45.00 not to mention the joy I would get out of playing around with the different jets. Hope this helps.

The Dyno and K&N are the same kit. They are not really going to help unless you are already running rich or lean. If you add things like a filter or pipe, then you will more than likely need to rejet. That is where this kit comes in. Rejetting a stock bike will probably not help at all.

Chop, since i installed the Dyno Jet kit i can really tell the difference on my bike. Awhile back I created the post about my DS bogging down badly in the snow. Since I installed that kit my DS does not bog down anymore.
As for the difference between the K&N and Dynojet kit. I do believe that the K&N kit is actually the Dyno Jet kit but has the K&N filter and outerwear in the kit. The Dyno Jet kit comes with 1 C-clip, 1 new spring, 1 new needle jet, 1 new spacer and several new main jets to adjust to your altitude. Detailed instructions are included. I bought mine direct from Dyno Jet, $74.99 I think, can't remember. My opinion, it is worth the money!
