wont start just backfires

Default wont start just backfires
just had head redone. valves are correct gauged and timing on cams also correct.but when it turns over it backfires out the exhaust.anyone have same problem.

Engine ignition is before top dead center on the compression stroke. sounds like yours is firing on the exhaust stroke. When checking the cam time the piston should be TDC and the cam lobes should be facing up.
