searching for carburetor interchangeability with my 99 Traxter 500
looking for information on what carburetors will interchange with my
99 Bombardier Traxter 500 with a Rotax engine
looking for a straight up interchange.
I think the carburetor that is on, is the original, manual says it should be a Mikuni BST34.
I would appreciate any info that I can get
Thanks!!

looks like they changed it to a Mikuni BSR 33mm later on 2005 Bombardier Traxter 500 Specifications and Price - Motorcycle USA
If that may work since its the same motor.
The more ebay options the better.

If it's a BST 34 Mikuni, Polaris used these carbs for several years on the early Magnum 425,Sportsman and Scrambler 500s.Your cable set up may be different as well as the choke, but it might work.Just scrounge around Ebay for used carbs unless you want to pay 400 bucks for a new one.
thanks again, for your input, as always
Cheers!

Hey all - I see this is an old thread - hoping someone is still listening. I was given a 99 Traxter 7414 498cc, Rotax engine model 511 (I think its a 500 Traxter) I purchased a carb to replace to the Mikuni BST34 (factory installed carb). The factor carb was so gummed up, it was unusable.
The two issues I am having are:
1. Not sure if all the connectors on the new generic carb are hooked up correctly - the distributor who sold it says its a jobber carb and to have a pro install it (ha ha). Looks pretty straight forward, as I was able to connect the throttle, choke successfully, and the gas intake. Not sure what else is needed.
2. No gas is getting to the fuel pump - is this because of a problem with the pump? Or something else before? How does one trouble shoot this?

Thanks old polaris tech - I can get that guide for free here: http://quads.ddns.net/service-manual...ice_Manual.pdf
The guide does not really describe the interfaces required on the carburetor. Second no word on what happen if gas is not making its way to the pump. My take is to remove the gas I added, remove all the fuel lines and tank and trouble shoot backwards. Is there a way to test if the fuel pump is working?
