Ds650 needs parts
I recently took my 2002 can am ds650 into the shop because it didnt start and backfired 247. i only had 60 psi compression so i knew it needed to be rebuilt. so i gave 700$ for a tear down only for them to tell me it would be another 4700$ for new piston rings, head/jug, crankshaft and bearing, bushing and seals. i am not familiar with rotary engine but i was wondering where to get a used or rebuilt motor or cheap parts and someone with the know how to rebuild it that wont cost 4500$. someone please help or shed some light on my situation. thanks, Jeff

man Jeff im in the same boat i just checked my compression and it was about 70psi. so we tore it all down and tomorrow I'm going to take it to an engine shop and have my rings checked. I'm really hoping thats all it is. Rings are about 50 bucks. If i were you i would get it back and have an engine shop look at it and tell you whats wrong with it. could be rings are bad or even a valve is sticking. Ill let you know what they tell me. look at this site. really good stuff.BOMBARDIER
