Hay Andrew, I had a problem with my axle bearings comming loose when the bomb was new, found it accidentaly when I was lubing the chain the first time. I was fortunate to have descovered it before any damage occured. Like yours, it was under warranty but what a drag it is taking it to the dealer. I suggest checking it after a half hour or so of riding to make sure it stays tight. I had to really crank down on the lock bolt to keep mine from repeatedly loosening. Let us know how it turs out.

Mine came loose too after several hours and I wasn't quite sure how to tighten it (it didn't say how in the shop manual - unless I'm going blind!). Took the advice given in this thread and now it looks ok again. Doesn't look like any permanent damage. Thx for the advice.

Guys,
I'm a fool!
It was just the preload bearing nut. I messed with it & it did help some, but not all. The dealer said I just needed to spin it more. I can't believe I did (or didn't) do that !
