Just talked to a guy at the dealer who rode his DS 650 in a race this last weekend. Said that the guys at Dirt Wheels (with their new shootout) are just lying. he said that it rocks on the track.

The ds is not a bad mx machine I race mine in the can am race curcuit and never finished worse than 4th but it is alittle more work do to the high center of gravity and weight but it can be riden very fast if your a bigger rider. the ds holeshots like no other it leaves alot of other machine sitting do to the fact that when you dump the clutch it doesn't flip over like the 400ex. Its not to bad of an mx machine!

It does well on the MX track.I don't race or MX anything, just ride at a practice track or trail ride. The DS has great stability ,power, suspension. You can set suspension for MX riding and take advantage of these attributes. When ridden aggressively it does require some extra muscle, due to size and weight.
The DS is a good jumper at a track& landing are fantastic once you have "tuned in" the adjustable suspension.

The ds is a great mx machine. I race district 23 motocross and harescrambles. Like posted before, the ds in no matter what ttune (stock vs. aftermarket) does holeshot like no other. In all of my harescramble (dead engin) starts, i'v grabbed the holeshot. In motocross (open class) its a differnt story when there is a 500cc leager banshee right next to you. The ds is fast and good around the track, but the 250r's will always rule supreme becaue of low center of gravity and good usable power. They can fly through those corners and never let off as where we would highside or "bite" on the ds. The only thing i beive would be good for the ds is 18inch tires, and some su spension to drop the overall height of this beast. Like they said before, its a great jumper as long as you dont get alittle sideways off the lip. Its hard to correct a 'pitch' in the air with that thing. Ha
