raptor's are good for wives, atleast my wife likes hers, ds650's are for guys that wanna go fast and not have any problems after you beat it all day and all you have to do is wash it, then i work on the wifes raptor when shes done puttin around and the chain is loose after a 5 minute ride. http://ds650andraptor.homestead.com/index.htmlText

I had a Raptor and I really liked it, scary fast, until I flipped it going up a hill. Prior to flipping it I had notice that it seemed tippy when I would ride aggressively in turns. I'm 5-10 285lbs and I had my weight as far forward as I could lean. Unfortunately when the Raptor came to a halt at the bottom of the hill it was totaled, I give thanks for insurance.
I replaced the raptor with a DS-650. The raptor was stock and the DS is stock. Both machines have their advantages and disadvantages, but that’s for each rider to determine. The DS is a much better machine for me. Because of the factory incentives I paid less for my DS than I did for the Raptor. I have not/did not have any problems with either atv.
While riding hard I would be shifting and the Raptor and it seemed to go into neutral when I did not want it to. Now I would be the first to admit that it could be me but it seemed to happen significantly more then any other bike that I have ridden and its not a problem on the DS.
That’s my opinion for what its worth.

Timothy312, I thought I got a great deal! That's $300 cheaper than me otd. I'm a big guy also(6' 230lbs.). I considered the Raptor, but I didn't want the first year run of either quad. Got my DS for $700 less than I would have paid for a Raptor. And with the Raptor I would have had a first year run. Even if I were smaller, it would be hard to pay $700 MORE than a DS for ANY quad.

Hey timothy312 congrats on getting the DS, I guess its good the Raptor came out, its brought down prices on DS's, I paid $6600 for mine in March of 2000 when they were trying to get them out on the trails, good time to buy a quad in Denver too, March with a fresh snow on the ground
