I was thinking of getting either a K & N or UNI filter for my DS. What are the advantages of both? What do you guys like about each one? I will probably wait till my 6 month warranty is up before any major upgrades like pipes, cdi's, carbs, etc. So right now just looking for the best filter for performance and filtering ability. I like K&N w/ outer ware. Never tried a uni so I can't say either way on it. As I called and ordered my DS, I ordered the K&N Power Kit from the dealer.

I had a UNI on an RM250 and it worked pretty well. On my DS now I went with the K&N/Outerwear and it's worked good too. Anything is pretty much better than that stock pos. The thing about the K&N I really like is that it seats really well and I'm not concerned about anything getting sucked in. And after a few rides I know it's done it's job because it's just filthy. Even the Outerwear picks up alot of particles because it usually needs a good bath when I clean my K&N.

The power kit come with multi jets, bigger needle, k&n & maintenance kit (cleaner & oil). I think it added a little to the throttle response. But what I like is I can rejet at will, best $100 bucks I spent.
