I wish I could find such a correctly sized and shaped double over here...the only jumpable we found is 40 feet long...and VERY steep...

That new shock...is it a new technology or what?

Oh...nice air pics by the way...

The Elka's are extremely good shocks, as I have a pair of fornt triple rates, remore res, comp adj and self sagging device on my Raptor. Very durable and work extremly well!

Hi Jimmie, I noticed that you have a Ron Woods stage one kit on your DS 650. I was wondering what kind of increase it gave you in the overall power band. Does it help give it a much broader power band? Does it really boost the low end on the DS? I really want to buy a DS 650, but after reading the December 2000 shoot out between the DS 650 and the Raptor in 4-Wheel ATV Action I was a little concerned. They said that the DS 650 is week at the bottom of the power band, and that it doesn't really start making power until the mid range, then you run into the rev limiter to soon. This worried me. So I was wondering if the Ron Woods Stage one kit would fix this problem and make the power band stronger overall like the Raptors is supposed to be. I love the looks and build quality of the DS, I don't want to by a Raptor. Also, can you tell me about the so-called "Twitchy" steering problems that all the reviews talk about. Are the mag's just blowing things out of proportion? It looks like a great Quad. Thanks for any info that you can give, I'm really hoping that it is a very good machine, like I said I want one really bad, but the reviews seem to pick it apart.

Thanks,
Brian

Angel,

Although I appreciate Jimmie's offer to come over and ride, I don't know that I will be hitting your 90' double. lol

I do look foward to the invitation and will surely hit some jumps!

90' double, might just be beyond my capabilities, lol

Look foward to the invite!

Take care,
Swy

hi area 51 the woods kit fixes the problems that the detuned ds650 has from stock , no rev limiter, 45mm carb, pipe and whoa you got bottom end now, and top and everywhere, bye bye raptors. as far as twitchy steering it is a little at 65 mph or like mine at 85 but that has not been enough for me to want any other quad, i'm not gonna bash my wifes raptor she loves it just like i love mine, wanna race honey hope this helps.

OK swytak we will also have a kiddie track at the neighbors for you, hope you don't mind riding with XR50's hehe j/k.

Yea, I hear ya out there Jimmie. I like those little xr50's, their "usually" the ones I can beat! hehehe, lol.

Just make sure you have that drag strip all ready, cause we need to do some testing to see just how fast that RW 650 is against my modded Raptor, hehehe lol.

I look forward to it!

Swy
