Set your rear suspension, then tear out the factory roller. Then go buy a good skateboard wheel with bearings, and istall it in place of the factory roller. This is a lot cheaper by a about $30.00 and it will work great!!!

Don't waste money on a chain roller. Go to a local skateboard shop and ask for a used wheel "usually free" and buy some new bearings "$1.00". I've had the same skateboard wheel on my DS for well over 6 months now, it does a great job. Take the $30.00 + dollars you'll save and buy something worth while like a twist throttle.

Q]Also, because the UPP chain roller does have a chain guide (like the stock one), it will not split in two like flat chain rollers and keep your chain aligned during heavy riding[/i] >>

I have yet to have my skateboard wheel split in two and my chain stays aligned during heavy riding.

<< I dunno but I think there’s nothing worse than ruining your chain over a cheap substitute. >>

I have my doubts a "rubber" skateboard wheel is going to ruin a metal chain and it does not make "ugly noises" like the stock or the UPP chain roller.

<< Remember to keep your chain adjusted correctly and work on getting the rear suspension set up correctly for your weight. >>

This is a must.

And the twist throttle is a personal preference. Most motorcycle guys that move over to ATV's like a twist. Those that have'nt had much time on a motorcycle prefer the thumb throttle. Marky, I'm not trying to start anything here but like I said I've had the skateboard wheel for over 6 months now and its working great. No unusual wear and tear on the chain either. If that changes I'll let you know.

My brother and I both use a skateboard wheel on our DS650's. He's 6 foot 7 inches and around 240Lbs. and I'm 6 foot 4 inches around 240Lbs also. I run my DS hard I don't "beat" on it by any meens but I do take some pretty good jumps and get plenty of air. I do this almost everyday for about 1-2 hours. The skateboard wheel I use I'm sure is a polyurethane of some sort but it seems a softer compound than most.

Don't sell me short. At 6'7'' i'm 255lbs.Anyways ,i guess i'm one of those guys that ''can't afford'' a real chain roller.Actually it obviously wasn't a money issue but an issue of i wanna ride and that factory P.O.S. blew out.Waiting for a new one wasn't an option. Also there wasn't many or any choices i was aware of other than stock. The idea for a skateboard wheel and bearing was a great idea and my local shop gave me several used wheels and bearings for free.Great deal.I was going to and probally will order a new one but since it works great i'm just not in a hurry.peace out.
