I got a couple questions for you guys about powdercoating.

Winters just around the corner for me up here in the UP so the DS is just going to be sitting in the garage the whole time. Id like to get the frame powdercoated, just to make it more unique from the rest. Im guessing for 300$ or whatever to get it powdercoated you would have to already have it taken apart and give them just the frame, am i right?? Is there any places that you could just drop off your complete quad and they could take it apart for you? I know i could take it apart, but i probably wouldnt be able to put it back together and have it run and handle right.. lol But im also guessing that would get really expensive. Can anyone fill me in on this?

Thanks , RoughRider01

Rough rider, The labor would be very $$$$. But the liabilities for getting the bike back together to the customers satisfaction would be very difficult. I wouldn't touch a job like that.

Knutz, Are they still letting quads run the quarter mile track?? I cant seem to get a straight answer out of those people when I call the speedway.

DO you know anyone who would possibly trade some hoosiers for some paddles, or where I can get some street tires, ive looked everywhere?? Abbott told me they might set up a 300ft sand track at the speedway, is that true? thanks

Indy Powdercoating, on Gasoline Alley by the 500 track, sandblasts, inspects, and coats quad frames for $200. best place in Indiana to have it done!

Mario,

Knutz hasn't posted in this thread in two years, in fact, no one had until recently. You should PM him & see if you can get the info you need, perhaps you'll get a faster response, or hopefully a response at all.

WOW, I just realized when this thread originated...My motor is out of one of my bikes and this thread is what got my wheels spinning again about the whole powder coating thing....

Man, I feel kinda dumb for not looking at the dates..LOL What a trip!!!

Blackhawk, thanks for showing me how easy I overlook these things..Someone must have used a shovel to dig up this thread!!!LOL
Glad they did though....I just cant decide on what color to go with, my rims are already powder coated Baron Red.. Frame may go black.
