Hi, I am seriously thinking of getting a Baja DS 650 and just wanted to see how you guys like yours.

Are any of you dissatisfied with your DS, and if so what is the problem you dislike?

I have a raptor and have been pretty dissatisfied with it and am not trying to start any wars or arguments here, I just would like to know the facts.

I have heard people dislike the a arms and I understand that has been changed for the baja.

Any complaints about it?

Any transmission problems. I have read many posts and not seen any complaints.

I also hear people say the reliability is very much like honda. I like that idea.

basically any dislikes and likes is what I am looking for.

Thanks in advance for any help
Bat

I love mine. I beat it severly and it just keeps going. No real mecanical problems as of yet. The suspention is second to none. Get the Baja, most of the complaints abought the normal one where adresed on it. Pluse a lot of more neat features.

Baja about $7300,,,,DS going for as low as $5300.
Upper a-arms,,,, $375
Tach???......... $200
lights???....... $250
Reinforcing rings$150
Real tires.......$250
CDI..............$290
Handguards???....$100
Works shocks with rezzies..$500
You do the math......
.......The Great thing is,,, if you already have a DS you are in the process of doing these upgrades anyway, so why trade in? If you are a prospective buyer, you can go either way and really end up with the same thing. The Baja really looks like it is ready to rock 'n roll, it probably needs something....if we look hard enough I'm sure we can find something.......How about a TimmyBoy swingarm?

I love what I am hearing, I may just make a special trip down to utah this weekend and buy one. I am not looking forward to more debt, but I will certainly like having another quad. I need one anyway so the wife can ride.

I really like the baja and will be buying one soon.

Thanks for the replies and keep them coming

And that is the beauty of it. Buy a new Baja, or Buy a regular DS and trick it out, or not, or trade in your DS on a Baja, or don't. It all works. It's not like the Baja is a totally different machine that makes us all gotta wanta have that new model. It is just refinements, some extra goodies, and new styling.
......Sounds like 3TV is getting a real good trade in, I hope his dealer doesn't read these forums...I'm going to stay with my yellow DS, I just put rezzies on my works shocks, did it myself, including charging with 250psi of Argon. It doesn't need anything else,,,but I would like to have that tach, and some nerfs,,A TimmyBoy swingarm is tempting but a lot of dough. Plus I have two new yellow riding outfits, boots, and a new yellow helmet. Gotta stay color coordinated!
... And I haven't got the miles on mine 3TV has on his. Plus 3TV kept his DS fairly stock, and rode the **** out of it!! I think he only bought tires and rims, so he really is going to enjoy the improvements on the Baja, which I have been trying to talk him into for months! How many times did I try and talk 3TV into shocks and upper A-arms? Hah! Looks like he's getting them after all, just on a new machine.
