<< I am running a 14 tooth sprocket with the stock rear and 22" XCT rear tires. This results in slightly lower gearing than stock, probably about the same as a 15 tooth with stock size rear tires. I do top out in the sandwashes, but I usually have a few rpm left anyway and am going damn fast. Not Baja speeds, but plenty fast, scary enough for me.
......The real advantage is in some of the really rocky areas where going even walking speed is not pleasant. But at this point I am thinking of trying a 15 tooth, which will shorten up the swingarm/axle position and make the attempt at staying ahead of my kid on his Raptor, which is getting some tricks for X-mas. I am also running a 14 tooth front sprocket with the stock 20" rear tires and it is great for slow, steep, rough, rocky terrain. Granted it is not as fast but goes plenty fast enough for me in these conditions. I also got it to help with the larger diameter rear sand tires, sand really changes the tire size/gearing requirements. I even got a 41 tooth rear sprocket but have yet to put it on, I want to see how just the 14 tooth change does.
