Has anyone ran a 14t sprocket on their DS with the stock rear sprocket? If so, did you have any problems wearing the chain slider, it looks lke a close fit.

I heard rumor that you can go 98mph with that 14tooth set up. LOL

Yes DS650 Stage 1, I remember reading that on a post some where too ! Man that is fast

Dropping the front sprocket 2 teeth is strictly a drag racing manuever. I would think max speed would be in the 50s somewhere.

I checked out that calculator, If I can figure a way to get the ds up to 15,000 RPMs I could go 150 mph. Cool

I am running a 14 tooth sprocket with the stock rear and 22" XCT rear tires. This results in slightly lower gearing than stock, probably about the same as a 15 tooth with stock size rear tires. I do top out in the sandwashes, but I usually have a few rpm left anyway and am going damn fast. Not Baja speeds, but plenty fast, scary enough for me.
......The real advantage is in some of the really rocky areas where going even walking speed is not pleasant. But at this point I am thinking of trying a 15 tooth, which will shorten up the swingarm/axle position and make the attempt at staying ahead of my kid on his Raptor, which is getting some tricks for X-mas. Well now that everone has kicked your butt bad enough, and you burned your bridge with Knutz in the other forum where you removed all your posts claiming 98 mph with a 14 tooth sprocket, lets ask everyone in this forum.

Will a ds w/stg2 kit and a 14tooth front do 98 mph? Markymark thinks so. because he calculated it, HEHE ROFLMAO, I calculated the size of his head into the factor and came up with a different speed.
