I hate to say it, but I don't understand the authors complaint. Valve lash does need to be adjusted due to wear on the cams, build up on valve seats, tuliping of valves, and other factors. The design of our motor is slightly harder to adjust the valves, but requires less frequent adjustment. It's still not that difficult. As far as the valve timing being off, I would not be surprized if this person didn't have the crank locked in the proper position. Many times I have opened up motors to see evidence of the locking screw being tightened against the edge of the grove instead of in the grove as it should be.

I have had trouble with the crankshaft locking bolt. On at least two occasions, I thought the bolt was in the groove but it was not.
