Just curious if the price has dropped down under 7k mark yet on the Baja. I know the DS650 was going in many areas for around 6200-6300 when the Baja came out. Has the Baja gone down any yet? Closest dealer in my area says they are around $7300.00 and they claim they aren't budging. Any lower prices around Indiana? Thanks!

Ahhhh, the suposed $400 adder for a Baja has gone and become a $1000 adder.

All the talk was that the adder for a Baja was a no brainer but, some of us were able to pick up a '01 Yellow DS for a great price (Bomb. also had a $1000 rebate the end of last summer) and by the time we put an aftermarket CDI ($350)and light kit ($125 approx.) (when the Baja parts are finally avail.), and Tach ($100) on the bike, we will still be under the price difference. We would have enough left over to get a filter and jet kit ($130)and a pipe ($200)(not including the header piece.)

True, I do not have the new A arms (or did they change them all for '02?) but really, I haven't seen the steering as an issue (I am 6'2" & 225 lbs. so that helps from what I hear.)

Personnaly, I prefer the yellow or the black over the orange (that's not red to me) and the price difference is just too much. Get the standard DS and go buy some things you really want with the added $1000.

All that being said, if you like the Baja, wait until the end of summer and you can probably catch a deal. If it were me I would buy it now anyways figuring life is too short to wait 8 mos. (think of all the riding you can do in 8 mos.) Now isn't that extra riding worth $1000? The Baja is a great looking quad and the extras are nice.

I paid $6900 for mine, so I guess you can find them down a little. Just shop around and play a couple of shops against each other, or just tell one shop that I am willing to pay this for this bike and walk if you don't get what you want. That is what I did and it worked for me.
