Hey...BiggerisBetter.... Where can I get your $30 end cap?
#2
I have seen two of the endcaps that guys on this board have and they will open up the exhaust. I might have some that disagree with me but the design of the stock exhaust is not bad. When you open up that end cap gains will be felt. An aftermarket exhaust on the DS doesnt give big gains, maybe 3-5hp and the end cap will give you 3 of those for sure. Biggerisbetter has a good design and I think he will help you out.

Hey Bad, I have these things made up here locally. I do think they do well agianst after-market pipes, I've ridden hard with the "TEXAS crew"and did as good as their( CT's, Big Gun's,GYT's )and so on. Not only in the drags, whitch was a toss-up, but also in the Dunes and trials. The end-caps are loud but not as loud as Roostinonyou's Big gun. Infact I made one up for him and he's going put it on soon.
I make these up for as cheap as I can, but they require Paint, a gasket, and the 4 mounting holes to be drilled. Its not that hard but I am by no means a manufacturer. Well, let me know if your interested.
P.S. Hey Roostin and Buttfungus, Have you guy's got yours mounted yet?

Yes I am interested. Could you kinda tell me how they are different in comparison to the stock end cap? Does it just have a single bigger outlet or dual? Does it have a spark arrestor or no. If not does it need one?And what does a spark arrestor do anyway?

Hurycne is right, but I have'nt made one with a 3 inch hole yet. It looked to big, so I made endcaps with 2-1/4(mine), 2-1/2(roostinonyou), 2-3/4(buttfungus) holes. I have'nt got a chance to talk to the guy's to see if their endcaps work as good as mine but I will find out soon. I'm also going to try to make one with a SA and see how quiet I can get one and still keep performance good( that should be a challenge).
To answer your other question, The endcap takes the place of the original and bolts up the same way.
Let me know what size a hole you want and I'll get started. Later.

biggerisbetter,
Im not sure on the outlet size I would want. I dont need a huge opening . My bike is stock now accept for the hose clamped air hose thing. the most mods I am going to have are jets, k&n, air box vents, a rev box and your end cap. So i dont think i would need a huge opening. Is your bike with the 2 1/4 mostly stock? Also what size jet did you use with your end cap if you used one?

Hurycne, Be my guest. Bad650, I will start on the 2-1/4 end cap like mine for you. And I used a Dyno-jet stage three kit in mine 195 jet, but with a Carbmount K&N. I pretty much followed the instructions for the Altitude and jetting process. Mine runs pretty damn good, and I think you'll be satisfied. I've heard back from Buttfungus and He is happy with his, but is going to dabble with it a little( he loves to tinker like me). My bike is stock exept for the air filter and jet kit, so it looks like you'll be running the same set up.Later.
