Ok, let me start by saying I usually only look at the pics in ATV action & DW because anyone with 1/2 of a brain knows that ATV Sport is the only mag with any credibility. With that said I read the review yesterday of the shoot-out between the: C'dale, BAJA, Raptor, 400EX & Banshee.
The Raptor got 1st of course. The BAJA got 4th out of 5th. In fact it even won the most catagories I think. If you gave a 1 to 5 points scale from low to high the Raptor ends up with 41 to the BAJA's 38, yet the BAJA only got 4th..... hmmm. It's even more lopsided when you consider that BAJA scored last in MX & woods & turns. The fact is the DS isn't that bad in the woods if you are capable of turning around trees. Last in turns amazes me too. The DS is so damn stable compared to the Raptor. Don't get me wrong, the Raptor is a nice quad, but what a crock. But than I opened the front of the mag and see a two page ad for the Raptor. Suddenly it all makes sense now.

ps> By the way the C'Dale finally seems to be getting it's dues. It got 2nd place.

 

I was woundering when someone was going to post about the results in that shoot- out. Seems kinda funny to me to!!
Why even break it down into catagories if it isn't going to reflect the end result??!!

Ya I read that trash too, I thought it was very appropreiate that this issue had a wraper on it telling me it was my last issue (like I didn't already know) and here they were bashing the DS again which is why I am not subscribing anymore

It upsets me how the mags don't give the cdale first. It is the best overall quad out there, hands down. Too bad cdale can't bribe the mags like yamaha.

CornDog, C-Dale can bribe the mags like Yamaha. Just take some of the R+D money and give it to the mags.

 

I thought it was a half way desent shoot out, until they named the Raptor best overall. The C-dale is the best high performance quad hands down. It's quicker, faster, jumps higher and corners harder than all the others. So what that it takes more skill &amp; effort to realize it's performance potential? That's what sport quads are all about.

I will say that they did do Bomb pilots a favor with the fire road catagory. I've never seen this catagory in any shootout before, but it is the one place where our beloved DS's are unbeatable. I do alot of this kind of riding in the National Forests in the Sierra's, and have to say that I can't imagine a machine that is beter suited for this type of riding.

 

I did not read the article but I do not see how they can say which bike is the best. I can agree that the Raptor is better than the 400EX for ME, I own both and the EX never gets touched since got Raptor. But for some people they ride all desert/sand so i would say the DS is the best choice for them. The cannondale is clear choice for MX and the banchee and EX needs mods to compete any anything.
