Well it took me 2 weeks to start buying things. What do you guys think of the things I just bought? Anyone else have similar mods. I can see me buying anything else for it besides tires.

HMF Pipe w/spark arrestor
DynoJet kit
K&N air filter
37 tooth sprocket

I'm going to wait and see how it runs first. I heard with this change in gearing it won't hit the limiter as much.

The 37 tooth sprocket does what in terms of performance? (Forgive my ignorance, I'm a newbie to the atv scene

It will raise your top speed a few MPH but you'll lose a little bottom end which I plan on making up with the pipe etc.

Hay Buzz, did you consider a rwr or pami CDI? This will do away with the rev limiter so you won,t have to worry about bouncing off it. Also if you read previous posts you'll find the stock bomb doesn,t respond well to higher gear ratios, most go lower for better power. You should be happy with the pipe and filter though.

I kind of went by the review on http://www.bombardierds650.com/
and it said with a stock quad that those gears work about perfect. If I'm not mistaken the Baja has similar gears. I'll let you know when I get everything rolling how it performs. I'm kind of scared to go without a rev limiter on the DS650. I've had quads before that rolled and I believe the limiter prevented them from messing up the motor.

Being my size, should I stick with the low end power? (I am 6'3 300). I am hoping to purchase a DS this weekend...so I'm trying to research.

Mustang Mike,

Just don't gear higher and you should never have a problem with size/power. Simply adding an aftermarket pipe will make a dramatic change in low end power. If you ever need more top end speed, you'll want to be sure to have all the basic bolt ons before you mess with gearing. Have you had the chance to ride a DS yet? It is as good as everyone says, maybe better. If you get a sweet deal, go for the normal DS, but if the price difference isn't a lot, I'd go for the Baja.

Blackhawk,
I haven't ridden the DS, but I am going to look this morning. I can't leave stuff alone so I do plan on buying whatever bolt on stuff there is I was concerned that some of the stuff would lose my low end, and not let my big *** get out of the hole! Thanks!
