from what i was told this carb uses 2 main jets and 1 pilot jet.the jet i am talking about is the smaller main jet.it is the main jet that is the farthest to the front.the other main jet has the shield around it.the pilot jet size has not changed from 00 to 01.

Yep! There are a few of us from Michigan. I live in Indian River, about 30 minutes from the Mackinaw bridge south. If you ever want to hook up when you are in this area call me at my office 231-597-2225. I ride a lot at Black Mountain. Large trail network of single track as well as two tracks and a modest scramble area that once was a ski resort (lots of hills!). Hope to hear from you! What spring are you talking about? The one in the top of the carb that works the slide and needle? If so exactly what did you do to it? Did it cause the quad to accelerate any different?

yes thats the spring, im gona see if the 2000 vs 2002 part # are diffrent. if so im gona order the 2002 spring. I streched the spring 25mm (from 110mm to 135mm) longer then comprest it and remesured it and it didnt stay the full 135mm it was 128mm restreached it again and it seamed to hold. maybe the 2001 & 2002 springs are stronger. It seemed once you chop the throttle and hit it again it was all their, no hesitation.

its just weird some days it runs to kick a$$ and then start to act up. I hope this is the end of it though. if not im gona look into a Lectron.

I never road up in that part b4. I live 30min. north of Port Huron, off of lake huron. Ill catch up with ya maybe this summer, that is if my brother in law gets his raptor.

Another area that is great fun is the little Manistee Motor loop, just north of Baldwin. If I remember right it is about 75 miles long and wide enough to ride REALLY FAST. It is graded once in the spring and by late summer is really wooped out. All sand, few hills, but great for power slides. Nice camp ground by Luther...rustic no shower, but you can jump into the river if you get too dusty. I hope to hear from you. Let us know about that spring as far as a new part number.

Another thing to check is the boot on the carb. My DS was backfiring all the time and getting a little warm. When at the dealer, the DS backfired and I noticed the boot was torn. Watch out for the air leaks.

I have had the 2000 & 2002 carb apart(side by side) and the 2002 spring is stronger & thicker, also the 2002 has a splash guard around the main jet.

Jeff or anyone, does anyone have the part number for the 2002 spring? I'm not really interested in modifying my spring, but would talk to my dealer or direct about getting the spring replaced. Maybe Mikuni would have them. Any thoughts? Also, what would the splash guard around the main jet do?

NeoSirfir,
Sorry I don't have apart #,but a Bomb dealer should be able to get you one.I am told the longer tube/slash guard below the main jet is supposed to be better.............but not exactly sure why
