Anybody coming through Utah DON'T SPEED. I saw 11 cops on the south end of the SLC valley I-15 today in a three mile stretch and every one had a car pulled over. You guys coming from Vegas need to be careful too... We'll be there around ten a.m........

So far , so good!
I still haven't gone over 6500rpm, will do that tomorrow.
Don, if you read this, I didn't want to call you AGAIN but John didn't have a gauge to read the oil pressure. He said it sounded fine thpough and Dave showed up just as I came back from my last run. So he got to hear it while it was hot and said it was OK.
We are noticing that it doesn't idle as smooth as it did before. Is that due to the cams?
I will call you when I get back on Mon.
Thanks for your help, I know I can be a pain!

hey barlett. Sand mtn. nv is 30 miles east of fallon on hiway 50. Its on the north side of the hiway, there is a sign on the hiway. You then are on a gravel road after you turn, go down about 2-3 miles to when you get to the bulletin board on your right. Then look to your left and we will be out that way, you saw the picture of my rig and i will leave a orange flashing light on all night. I will surely give you a beer for going that far. Sean

Sandgod, you are right about watching out for cops.

I was in slc today driving my pops caddy and that thing has *****. I never new, you know these older guys dont really get on it, but it has the 300 hp northstar in it.

I must have seen 15-20 cops and all but three had people pulled over and the others were looking for candidates.

I got lucky, because I was on 215 heading back towards wyoming and pulled out around a pack of slower cars and kicked up to about 95, when I looked in my rear veiw mirror I saw a cop parked on the right side of the road with no one stopped. I guess I just snuck on by the radar gun.

Anyway I agree watch for the police they will be out in force.

looking forward to seeing every one out at the dunes.

Bat

The rough idle could be from the pilot jet being "gunked" or it could be a sign of damage from running it without oil. The cams shouldn't be causing it to idle rougher than befor. The advertized duration of your old cams is about the same as the race #2's, if they actually met their advertized specs. The lift of your new cams is significantly higher though. I'm very worried about your motor, please continue to break it in befor testing to see how "nasty" it is now. Every bearing in that motor is new, so you have to be carefull, PLEASE!
