I have a raptor and the best gearing for 300ft (100yards) for me is 14-40. I take out in 1st and 3rd is right at the top of the power at 300ft. It runs 52-53mph in 300 feet in 3rd. Hope that helps you some. The raptor runs 5.7

I also race a 250R big bore (350) on alcohol. I run a 15-36 gearing take out in 1st and go through the end in 4th at 63 mph running 4.7 seconds.

Usually the quicker the revs the faster it accelerates so i would try stock gearing to begine with. From there you should be able to tell if it runs out of gear to fast then go larger on the front sprocket.

Can you get away with running a 15/43 combo without adding links? I know you can run a 15/42 combo fine.
