Jetting question
#1
I see everybody has different jetting that works for them. I want to install only one set and be done with it. Any help I can get picking the best one that will work would be appriciated. I have the K & N filter & jet package w/dyno jets.
what is the difference between the main and the other one????
I guess the bigger the number the more fuel will go through????
i.e. 180 185 190.
Should I use the new or factory needle????

We probably ride in most of the same areas. High and low deserts, Lake Arrowhead (Pinnacles). I am running a 180 with the DJ needle in the 4th position down from the top. Runs great. The new DJ needle will give you better throttle response. I recently added a Ron Woods CDI and was thinking about going with a 185 main to see if that made any diff. Not sure if the new timming would allow for a larger main or not though.
Any way how I got to the 180 on mine was I started with the 185. But at full throttle in 5th it bogged in the sand wash I was in. So I tried the 180 and it keept pulling. So then I worked on the clip position. Started on the second. It was OK. Went to the fifth and LOL.....no way. 4th perfect. Might be a better way. But trial and error worked for me.
My brother(Wshrdskin) his family and mine are headed for Pismo this weekend. Marker #2. Tan F150 w/8'overhead Lance. Maybe you can make it out there?
Happy jetting and Good luck

Been wanting to get to Pismo with the desert temp rising. was there 7 years ago and it was very tricky with that creek and soft sand at high tide. What your access plan. I did call ranger station who gave me a tow company that would sell me escort service on and off beach for $125.00.

This will be only our second trip to pismo. Last weekend we got there on saturday about 10am. At first i was to far away from the wet sand and almost got stuck. I had to stick it into 4wheel to get going again.Had no problem at all after that. We just stayed out of the water but close to it. There was no creek with water in it like we had been told. We left at 8pm that evening and the tide was high. I did have to go through water that time. But it was only a few inches deep. If I wasn't 4wheel drive or with someone that was I wouldn't have tried it though. And still wouldn't. There was a lot of motorhomes there though. I guess if your two wheel or in a motorhome you would have to come and go at low tide. But then getting far enough away from the water could be a problem. Others do it so there must be a trick to it. Sorry to say I just don't know the trick yet.
