Will the DS 650 fit in the bed of a truck?

I have a 79 Dodge D50, you know like a Chevy Luv. When taking my DS to the shop or somewhere close I load it up in that. It fits snug, but not too tight. Now if I can fit the DS in a mini pick-up, I don't think there is a truck that it will not fit in... Unless you have one of those trucks with a 4ft bed.

I have a not-so-funny truck bed story. I bought my DS (from Gary at TVI) and I had a friend come help me pick it up with his Toyota pickup. We measured the bed length and width, and the quad would fit perfectly, but the front wheels would have to go up and over the wheel wells. No problem. So we borrowed a couple of nice long new ramps from them and positioned them on the truck tailgate and on the ground. When it came time to load it up, one of the 16-year-old kids rode it around into position at the bottom of the ramps. Then, just when my friend, a salesman, and myself were getting ready to help him push the DS into the truck, the kid decided he had a better, easier idea. He revved it up and dropped the clutch. The quad flew up the ramps, over the wheel wells and smashed hard into the back of the cab. It pushed the whole back of the cab in about three inched and popped the sliding window out of its tracks. Not a scratch or bend or anything on the DS. My friend was irate. We talked it over with Gary, and he took care of the whole thing. A couple of weeks worth of a rental car and ~$2,300 later everything was back to normal. The moral of the story is, yes it will fit, bed liners are slippery, and slowly is the way to load.

Hey Ron - the DS even fits it those trucks with the "4ft bed". My daily driver is a Nissan Frontier Crew Cab with the short bed, it's actually a little bigger than 4' Anyway, the DS fits in with the front tires resting on the wheel wells and the rear tires sit on the tailgate. Two tie downs to the front, one stretched across the rear tires to the two anchor points and it's in. I prefer to trailer it, but I know it fits if needed.
