Extreme haulers. 22x11x10 or 20x10x10? How many paddles?
#2
Mine are the regular haulers, in the 20x10x10 8 paddle configuration. They work well, but they do spin a bit more than the 22's from what I hear. They are the only sand tire I have, so cant really compare.
I love them and dont think I would trade for anything else. Well maybe for a 22. But I want to ride some 22's first.
I dont dig holes though, so if that is your worry then I think you will be ok. I believe if you are big into drag racing then the 22 might be better.
I have the 8 paddles and they work great, but a nine might be better.
I think 10 would be over kill unless you have a lot of power.
Hope that helps

The 22x11x10 Extreme Haulers are the way to go on the big bore quads like Raptors & DS's. I put mine on 9 inch wide wheels, Most come on 8 inch.
You definatly want to go with the 8 paddles. The 10 paddles will really rob your top end power. So go with the 8 paddles unless you have a really built high horsepower DS.
As far as hitting your heel guards there are some from Diamond that clear, or you can trim a piece off the stock heel guards. Do a search on that & you'll find more info.

First off where do you ride? Pismo? Sand Mt.?
If Pismo you want the 20" tires without any question. The 22" tires will make you to tippy.
Now, if Sand Mt. do you like to just drag or also ride some of the tight trails in the back and in the canyon? If just drag the 22" tires with a gear change if like to ride both or prefer the trails in the back and the canyon I would again go with the 20".
I recently went from the Sand Sharks to the Extreme Haulers 20x10x10-8paddle and I love the new tires. These tires have given me more of a boost than my pipe did (by a long shot.) I have not noticed them digging holes and I feel they are well suited for stock gearing. I am able to make it up comp hill at Sand Mt. in 3rd.
I have heard of others mounting them on 9" wheels like TheMoose is talking but, haven't seen it.
If you have made or plan to make engine modifications the 22" tires may be a good fit.

Skat-trak is not very precise with their paddle tire diameters. One guys tire can be significantly different from the next guys.
The problem I had with my 20x10x10 9 paddle haulers was that they were more like 18" tall, which looked silly on the big DS for one thing. The narrow 10" width combined with a 18" tall tire dug in horribly and the DS bottomed out in deep sand, causing me to get stuck way too many times. Lifting the DS out of it's hole in deep soft sand on the side of a hill facing upwards is not easy. I also felt the tires didn't pull well. I've seen other people's 20" haulers that weren't as bad as mine.
I bought 22x11x10 10-paddle haulers. These hook up much better but will limit your top speed a bit and could slow your wheel speed/spin a little affecting how fast the motor revs and goes through the gears. Thes tires can nibble on your stock foot guards.
From my experience there is a trade off between the amount of bite off the line and the amount of loading in the upper RPMs.

I called skat-trak earlier today and they said they make a 8,9, & 10 paddle in the 22" extreme. I hope this is right or all that calling around today trying to find these tires was a waste of time. I will call them tomorrow to make sure they do make it.
