Ha, thought the title might get everyones attention, but anyways, I'm not even gonna try any longer to get the float bowl and needle housing screws out, Tommorow I'm going to use the good ol' easy outs and get the allen heads. Anyways I kwow this was posted awhile back, but I can't remember what it was called and I need the size of the screws. Also on whos website is the Mikuni vs Dynojet Main Jet, chart?

3-4mm x 10mm and 1-4mm x 12mm for the screw that holds the idle adjustment cable. You can go here to order some stainless steel socket hex head screws

This is the site where you can order them. In fact, *I* need to do just that soon. If you want the stainless steel (which is a REALLY good idea) all the local shops near me didn't have them, so I think this place is one of the best options.

I worked all last night trying to get those screw out. And all I got was 4 marred up screws that I cant use a screwdriver on anymore!! Is there any tricks to get these out? Going to try a needle nose vise grips tonight.

I think your better off to remove the carb and get an impact driver, then loosen the carb screws. They come with 4 bits usually and will remove any stubborn screw/screws that you come across. I haven't stripped out a single screw yet using an impact driver. Then you can replace the stock screws with stainless hex socket head screws.

Gentlemen.......your answer is here....lol. Get a small pair of needle-nose vise grips. Adjust them 'till they have a good bite on the carb screw and simply twist....viola!

I'm with Gary. The impact driver is a great idea but, I am too lazy to remove the carb.

I have used those needle nose vice grips for many tasks since I bought them for the simple task of removing the carb bowl screws.

We need someone to put together a kit (ziplock bag) of two sets (one for use the other as an extra) of carb bowl screws so we all don't end up with 99 extra of the ones that hold the idle adjustmet and 97 extra of the other bowl screws. 8 screws in a ziplock bag won't pay my retirement so, I guess this isn't the million dollar idea I have been looking for.

I have been using steel screws which are available at a local hardware store. I would like to upgrade to stainless.

If you take a hammer and tap the screwdriver before you strip the head that should loosen them. Otherwise its the dremmel to save the day. I went to Home Depot and got the allen head screws. Definitely worth the trip.
