Ok today I put on my clear radiator hoses and filled it up, when you start it up, the coolant doe's not flow. Is there a thermostat on the DS which opens and allows flow after it has reached a certain temperature, or is somethign wrong?

Yes there is a thermostat and it opens at about 190 degree's. Let it idle for a while and you will see the fluid running especially when your fan kick's in. Make sure after that thermostat finally opens that you check your coolant level again, you will probably need to add some. Good Luck.

Thermostat opens at 185, closes at 165, fan kicks on at 221, off again when it gets down to 200, and the red light comes on at 239.

We use that very same hose here where Iwork for a alot of stuff - think maybe I'll take a couple feet home tomorrow and do mine too. My water pump and clutch cover is off right now, waiting on clutch disks to arrive, no better time like the present since I'm already drained. I bet the orange Dex-Cool will look good flowing through that hose - orange matches the color scheme well on the yeller DS's.

I would suggest picking up 2 clear 90's at a local plumbing store, it'll make your job much simpler and no kinking. If you need more help, PM me.
