I'm changing the front sprocket and forgot to check which way the stock one was on, do you stick the part that sticks out towards the engine or away from the engine?

The part that protrudes goes towards the motor....I have seen it put on backwards(dont drink and work on the DS)...the chain will rub the cases

I put it on the way you said and tightened the bolt to 107 ft. lb. and now I can move the sprocket back and forth, not much but a little bit, do I need to worry about this and if so how do I fix it since the bolt is as tight as it should be?
