I'm having an ongoing problem with my main fuse blowing. It only happens when I have my lights on, it happens on low beam and high beam. It only happens when riding though, at idle its fine. It seems to be at higher rpms. Anyone have any ideas what could be causing this?

You have a short to ground somewhere in the lighting system. Check your wiring for a cut in the wire where it could be rubbing against metal. It probably only hits the meatal when you are riding.

I've seen a broken wire in the tail light shorting against the metal, blowing fuses.

Defintiely try AngryBaja's suggestion first. I would also check the voltage regulator to make sure the output voltage stays at 12-12.5 volts during all rpms.

Rocky, where on the voltage regulator do you check for that voltage? I've already checked all the wires from my lights and I can't find a short. I'll also check the tail light like Scooby suggested. Thanks I'll let you know what I find.

You can actually check anywhere after the regulator. Probably he easiest one to get to would be on the tailight or headlight itself. Be sure to keep the voltmeter on while reving the engine. The voltage shouldn't rise above acertain threshold, somewhere around 12 volts.

I've found my problem!!! Thankfully it isn't the voltage regulator. One of the wires from the tailight was rubbing on the grab bar. Somehow the split loom that protects it was pushed back, allowing the wire to rub. Thanks to everyone that replied.
