the outside Dia. of the carb flange is 62mm(2.44&quot, so the filter needs to fit this, and the lip of the filter must be angled down to follow the frame lines so the foam doesn't get squished by the seat, which would cause constant wear. I don't know the angle.
Catalogs list the sizes and angles for universal filter applications, I'll check them tonight at work - that's where I left them all!

Got it - Uni universal filters
Buttfungus - go to this site, scroll down to TWO STAGE POD FILTERS, 15 DEG. ANGLE - its the last filter in this group - 63mmID(2.5&quot. No part number, just description. I'm pretty sure this is what we want.

Those are a great price compared to the K&N. How do they compare?

Thanks Jeff.

Baja - I couldn't say how they compare on the dyno, but I'd guess the difference is pretty minimal. The foam Uni filters are better for trapping micro dust particals, and do a better job at cleaning the air. This makes them a popular choice for really dusty areas.

Now the question is where did you buy them. I am looking for somthinf other that the carb mount K&N because it rubes on the seat and tears the outerwear. This looks like a good alternative. So where did you find them?

Call UNI, ask them.
Dennis Kirk sells them, we can call them and see if they have this part # available.
Same with Chapparral.
When I find out, I'll post it, unless somebody beats me to it! Have to wait 'til monday though!
