First let me say that I am a loyal bomb owner for duning and ride a honda for mx racing. I had the opportunity to have dinner with one of the top individuals from Kawasaki last weekend after attending the sandsport show in Costa Mesa, CA. Since he is a family member, by marriage, I had to get the scoup on this new beast.

Here is what he had to say. Kawasaki is not going to limit this quad from the factory like the 650. You'll even be able to order the bike from the factory with all the pro circuit mods. And just in case you haven't noticed Kawasaki's pro circuit line seems to be working pretty good on the motocross side right now. The entire trany has been reworked for durability and quick response. They said that their pro test riders could not shift as quick and efficiently manually as with the automatic. I questioned this being a big torque guy myself and his response was just wait and see. I of course went right into the liability side of releasing this quad and he said their legal department has worked out all the details and they are ready to go. As for testing he says it has been non-stop testing the past several months. I asked him directly about the DS and raptor with head to head testing and he stated there was know comparison, both on the flats and up the hill. A lot of testing was done at Glamis and when I asked how it went he just smiled. I'm hoping to get to ride sooner than later on this new beast. But one thing is for sure they think they have a winner coming out of the gate. He also said that the aftermarket arena will take shape very quickly on this quad, not like the bomb that is still taking shape.

He has been with Kawasaki longer than I have been alive and believes this is one of the best products they have ever assembled. To say the least he was all smiles. He had nothing bad to say about the other bikes he just kept telling me to wait and see for myself because that is the only real test. I do know that if you want one you better get to your local kawa dealer and get on the list. Delivery is scheduled for late January or early March.

They have dyno'd the machine but would not share the information just yet. I will keep working on him until he provides the complete detail.

Nice report, sounds good so far! But everything new that comes out(before it comes out) always says it has more HP than it realy does.

I believe that is why he didn't want to provide dyno numbers because all it does is cause arguments. Once it hits the stores everyone will have the opportunity to find out for themselves.

Gmann,

Did your connection say why Kawasaki didn't have a booth?
I was very surprised/depressed that none of the factories were there. I figured they would be there in force showing all the new models to one of the hottest markets in the country. Maybe I missed that show?

I'm not sure about the other manufacturers but I know that Kawasaki was busy meeting with all of their reps and stores last week about the 700. It was a little odd that there weren't any manufacturers there? Anyone have any more info on why the manufacturers did not attend?

I will say this if you have never ridden a P650 you owe it to yourself to try. No it is not the fastet thing going but the power deleverie is so awsome it will make you wet your self. Now the chassie IMO sucke and I have been wating for something like this. I do not think it will replace my EX on the track but every where else this thing should rock. Will it out run a DS don't know But that is not what I want it for. The power OH the smooooooth sweet power.

SCOOBY it is based on the P-650 so I would think it is a 90 degree v.
I would also think it has four valves per cly and two carbs. I think it is just one plug a cly. I am not sure about this stuff but 95%.
