I have called around trying to find a steering stem but have had no luck. The only one that might be able to help me out out is Diamond G racing, he was a really nice guy on the phone. He said they were out of stock but he would try to find me something(I am hoping). Just wandering if anyone out there knows of anywhere else that might have an aftermarket one? I would like to run Pro Taper bars and not have them to close to the tank so an extended one would be perfect.

Have you seen the Trail-Tech solution yet? Go to the above site and check it out - I'm thinking about getting it. $99 gets you the complete kit - raised bar clamps to clear tank, all polished billet clamp set-up, you choice of polished, gold, or black bars that are oversized fat-bar style.
Their site doesn't list this for the DS, but its ready now, they just haven't updated their site. You can even get the billet dashmount computer and bullet lights for the DS set-up too.
Cruise around the site, they have pictures of the DS wearing this set-up, and it looks sweet.

That is a nice set-up. I just got off the phone with them(kelly) and they say the clamps will be in in about 3 weeks to a month. The clamp and fat bars were only $99.
