And there was no nitro in the bike at the time only metanol
it happened on take off so the bike was not rapped out
we installed the yamaha piston because that was part of the kit and would you stand behind your kit if i modded it we don't know what to expect from sam coe !!

YEP i agree and for those of you thinking about the samcoe kit you better think twice this rod will fail and thats a fact i talked with matt this am he didn't seem surprised .Nor did he even say sorry dude he realy sounded as though he did not give a damm!! But my bad and i won't make that mistake again. The thing to remeber here is can your afford to walk out like i did today and buy a whole new engine @ 2100.oo rebuilt and plan on spending another 5 grand to get it up to par. thats 7 grand maybe my mistake will save someone elses's butt!!!learn or get burned!!!!

Damn AZ, you shouldn't let Sam Coe get away with that. I don't think that they should have to pay for the whole thing but atleast compensate you a little.

YEP, sounds like a Raptor rod to me! If I would have known, I would have warned you. If it wasn't a Rap rod, but still a Yammie rod then the one you got was just as bad as a Rap rod.
Mine broke the same and also had a crack down the beam approx 2" right down the center.
Sounds like SamCoe is building bombs, literally!

If Sam Coe knew you were going to use that motor with your mods, then shame on them. Usually high end motors are built and sold without warranty because of the high abuse they normally have to withstand. BUT, when there is an error on the builld or engineering, then the onus shifts back to the builder. I have seen a few of the big engine builders stand behind their product on www.corral.net including Keith Craft when they realized there was an oversight on their part. I hope Sam Coe at least looks into this further to help you resolve it.

Well Majorecho and myself have came across a motor that were told should fit a DS. It is an Aprilla crate motor that is supposed to be the same as a DS650 and a BMWF650 motor. The only difference is, ready for this, it has a 5 valve head!!! If anyone knows anything more about this motor, please speak up. We are trying to find out if indeed it will work or not. It has been dynod and does put out more HP than the DS in the stock form from what were told. The cool thing is that the company has had it for a while and are offering it to us for $1299.00. So if anyone is interested in the motor we would get it for ya and sell it for the same price. Send me or major a PM if your interested. Just trying to help someone out maybe, not having a motor would have to plain ol suck!!

Dont count on sam coe to stand behind what they sell. I have to replace my rod piston all the gears in the transmission and the bearings to, due to the fortin gear that shattered. I even sent them all the gears to check out. Guess what......no warranty no guarantee nothing. As a matter of fact, they blamed reverse for second gear busting. WTF why in the he!! dont they sell a frigging reverse gear then....total BS!!!
You would think that carillo rod would have been part of the 720 kit.
I cant wait to hear more about how much power this big bore has, get it together soon
