Anyone running a Yoshi Pipe? If so how does it compare to other slipons?

I have it, and love it. Its the only slip-on I've had, so i can't really compare to others, but I can say that it performs nearly as well as my RWR full system did on my STOCK motor - it feels the same, and my race results have not suffered at all.
All stainless is the only way I'll ever go again on pipes.
It sounds good, and is incredibly quiet for the power it produces. It will pass most regulations, without switching to a restricted end cap insert. Its great.

WHAT??? Either you ride with earplugs or your pipe is a lot quieter then mine.
My Yosh pipe will definately fail all noise tests but its no louder then the rest of em.
I really like the looks, the sound and the power, its a quality piece for sure.

Maybe your packing is due for a replacement?
In the Dirt wheels pipe shootout for the Raptor, the Yoshi was the quietest of all 20 pipestested - beating out even the disk system pipes.
I always pack my TEC inserts everywhere, but have yet to need them. People I know who have passed the sound tests for Silver lake MI have pipes that are louder than mine too.

Yah I'm thinking defective now. It was just as loud when it was new as it is now. The packing is all there in good condition.
Tec insert??? is that a silencer? Maybe they improved the pipe after I bought mine cuz there wasn't any kind of silencer available for it then. How does the TEC insert fit into the pipe? Maybe it will fit into my pipe.... ya know, when the need arises of course. Thanks for the info.

The only Yosh pipe for the DS650 is the slip-on RS-3 Competition at $355.00. To get the TEC setup you have to send in you RS-3 with $150.00+ they will then send you the Offroad can with the TEC set-up and keep your RS-3 Can. VERY GOOD CUSTOMER RIP OFF!!!!!!!!

PS mine is gone as soon as I can buy a new Trinty systeam

Thanks for the info Bill. I guess thats something to look into... $150 is cheaper then a new pipe besides, I only paid $225 for mine. It was least expensive of the few choices available when I bought it.

I paid $240 for my Yoshi from Duncan Racing, 7 months ago, and paid an extra $40 for a Tunable End Cap system (TEC). The pipe came with an aluminum two piece end cap, and the TEC inserts simply adjust the size of the opening - they're just little inserts with a spark arrestor screen on them that fit between the two peices of the end cap. There is also a spark arrestor screen that can be removed or installed at will in the full size nozzle opening of the aluminum end cap as well. It quite a nice set-up, I really like it.
I run my pipe with the spark arrestor screen installed, no inserts, but always carry the inserts on trips in case a new decibal laws says I'm too loud!

Bill must have got an earlier verson, because mine was cheap and no modding required - came with everything for $280 - but if you don't want the TEC kit, its only $240, and you can always add the TEC later for $40 because they all come with the two peice end cap.
Call Duncan Racing - they were the cheapest, out of everybody. The Yoshi website shows this set-up I have - but buying direct costs a bit more.

Yoshi pipes, TEC
this link will show you the TEC inserts, the pipe at the bottom of the page is the one I have. Like I said, pay no attention to Yoshi prices - call Duncan Racing...I paid $280 for it all!

Hightower it sounds like you started off with the Comp Off-road can. I started off with the RS-3 can which is larger in size but does not have the TEC option. I took my system to Yosh and was quoted $80 for the change over. A week later they said it was going to cost $150 for it. I said ok. A week later I get the new system but they keep my old can. I called and got nothing but a run around for two months, he on vacation, I due not due that, they put me on hold, or just Hung up on me. All they had to due was return a part I had paid for and I would be happy but they would not even talk to me.
