what type of riding is he into??? The DS is a great quad but may not be suited for style of riding.

That being said, The DS is a 650cc, 12inch of suspension, MONSTER! I love mine and would'nt trade it for any other quad made today(honestly).

If he want POWER, RELIABILTY, COMFORT, the DS is for him. If he wants light, narrow, nimble he probably needs a Raptor, or a Z400. my.02

if he is a big guy....the ds is the way to go
if he is a little guy ...the raptor is the way to go
take ur pick really...one isn't much faster then the other until u start playing w/ the engine...

Pretty much all of the above is spot on. As much trouble as I give the DS owners it would be my second pick.

Disturbed: stay away from the cows, we don't want to know about it anyway. J/K lol

I am not that big and I prefer the Ds over the raptor. I am 16, 170 pounds and about 5' 10". I feel more comfortable on the track, trails, and sand compaired to on the raptor... But maybe that's just me.

My opinion is to go to the dealer and test drive both of them. (That's what i did)

The DS is the way to go for reliability, comfort, power, and overall durability. I wouldn't trade mine for any other ATV on the market.
