Well I was cruising around on Rotax's website and I noticed a motorcycle motor they produce which is nearly exact to the DS's motor, but it is equipped with a 5 valve head, I was just wondering if I was seeing things and just imagined the possiblity of a 5 valved DS motor sitting in my garage?

That motor has been talked about lately on the forums. There is/was one on ebay for sale. And the a few people suggested to the missing motor guys to pick one up for the mean time while there motors aren't around. I think it produces 47 horsepower which isn't bad at all I think the stock DS engine pushes out 42. I was just wondering if the aftermarket parts that they make for the DS would compatable with this engine???

I'm sure nearly everything would work with the exception of valves and cams. I hope someone can enlighten us with the whole story or actually gets a chance to pick one up. I also saw the one on Ebay but thought it was a misprint until I saw there website.

The hi comp piston would not work. There is not five cuts for the valves.

Well we(majorecho and I) were the ones that put up the post about the motor. major actually had it for awhile and we inspected it closly. he feels that the head is inferior as well as the oil lines and a few other things also were in different places. There are like NO aftermarket stuff for it and NO the jug nor head will work on a DS base. I would bolt into a DS though but with the dual carbs you ,ight have some fitment problems, nothing that would be major i dont think though.
