Went to take out the baja for a nice tour yesterday and it wouldn't start. Not the battery this time that's fine, but, it would roll over fine just not go. So pulled on the choke and after a while it started but as soon as you took the choke off it would die.The last attempt to start it a friend was looking up under it while it rolled over, it started and then back fired. He said he saw it light up by the carburator so we checked it out and guess what?? The carburator was just hooked on by a thread and when she backfired it blew the hose right off. What's up with that ?? If they couldn't tighten the carburator makes you wander what else is gonna fall off eh?? I guess I'm gonna have to take it for it's first ten hour check before I even get ten hours on it. By the way, hooked the hose back on tightened the carb now she works perfect.

ALWAYS make sure all the bolts are tight before each ride. Just use your eyes and fingers before using. I can't count how many times people have compained that something was loose (no matter what brand).
Single cylinders vibrate "just a little" more than other engines. Do a pre-ride check and don't worry about it.

The dealers aren't the answer. Most of them aren't into warranty work and are happy to do the check ups and they always find some thing wrong. I've often wondered if they aren't pre set problems. No I have no respect or trust for them. Learn it.. wrench it.. and keep it tight your self. The knowledge on the Ds isn't out there, sad as it is, that's the truth. What is known is know by the owners most companies that make mods for the BOMB will tell you that if they are any good or should I say they have a good market for the products they sell and information like that will not hurt them any way.
