Default fmf pipe good or bad?

p.s I have the chance to buy an fmf pipe kit from alba for 400 bucks plus shipping. It includes full pipe, jet kit, k@n, and outerwear. Is this a good choice? My friend istalled aron woods pipe on his ds I did not like it because it sticks out too far past the tail end. I have an 03' baja only mod so far is paddles and front runners. Oh yeah never buy sand devils they suck I have been out on them twice and they are already fallin apart.

Well the FMF is a good pipe, but you won't see any benifit of the "Full" pipe over just the slip-on, unless you go with some big internal mods. And then If you do go with big internal mods , thier are better pipes out their than the FMF.(Ron Woods)

My point being, that 400 bucks is too much for a FMF jet kit and K&N filter. You will get the same results with a slip-on(HMF $150) a couple a mukini jets($5) and a K&N filter($40).
DOn't get me wrong the FMF is a great pipe, especially if you are in a area that has sound restrictions. But if performance comes first, you can get the same results for alot less cash(don't even get me started on modded endcaps)

Good luck,

I agree! I've got an HMF pipe for $180, a $19 "e-bay" jet kit, and a K&N. I looked at every dyno chart and hp claim I could find before buying my pipe. I couldn't see spending twice as much for a full exhaust system, when they only claimed 1 or maybe 2hp more than a slip on. As for the Sand Devils, I've owned 2 sets so far, without problems. Granted, the traction was alot better with the pair I had on my ( much smaller ) 250X, but I'm happy with them nonetheless. Given a handful of $$, I'd definately choose something else, but I think they're an okay paddle given the price.
