Anyone ever thought about destroking a DS motor. If you took like -3mm off the crank It would rev like crazy. This makes the motor 628cc, But revving to 12000 would not be a problem. Great for drag racing.....

yes you lose a little torque but pick up HP and top speed. Probaly have to run different gearing.

Would your valves be able to work that quickly?

nhra drag racing has a class that uses crate motors,no increase in cub's allowed so they started to destroke these motors and twist the hell out 'em. it works! huge hp @ high rpm's ton's of money spent to keep them together. maybe when having to run a cc restrictive event this would work? (bigger is still better)

Hurycne,
Have you been talking with DSMike?
This would take a longer Rod(better) or a different piston pin location, then add a 108mm piston what would that be??

Well you would have to use a very strong valve spring.
