Default Who has ported & polished their DS650 intake manifold?

Who has spent the time to port, polish and port match their stock intake manifold? I will be changing over to a TM45 carb soon and was wondering if it is worth the time and effort to improve the stock manifold or is it better to just buy a new RWR intake for the TM45 carb update.

Thanks in advance for the info.

If you have access to a die grinder or something of the sort, go that route. Its easy to do and you could use the money you save for some other goody. I used an emery paper wheel. Works slick.

i did mine i can't say it made a big difference but it did line up real bad, and woods said if i go the 45 route i could have the stock one bored to except the bigger carb. seems like it was the head side on mine that was about a 1/8 of an inch smaller, which caused a flow block.

Thanks for the info. guys, I think that I will be spending some quality time with a die grinder on my intake and cylinder head very soon.

Port the intake, but don't polish - you need the turbulence of the porous surface for air/fuel atomization.
Polish the chamber and exhaust ports, to reduce carbon fouling.
