Default Trailer for 2 quads

I think buttfungus was able to get a better deal due to less shipping expenses, they really do make big tex trailers in texas and ship the all the way over here. The Big Tex trailers are very nicely built as a utility trailer. I looked at a couple of other brands which were considerably cheaper and made locally however they didn't bother to get things done as nicely as the Big Tex. (I was looking at one of those other trailers, still brand new on the lot, and it had already started rusting!)

Razorcat,
Have a look at the trailer in my photos. I paid $1800 new in 2000. If I hadn't found that deal I would have spent a lot of $$$ at ATC and I may still some day.

I fit a Raptor, Scrambler, XL185, and still have a closet on the side for all the extras. Its 6'x12'.

1800 for an enclosed trailer is a REALLY good price, who made it & where did you get it? Any idea how much it weighs?

The one on E-bay is a nice trailer, perfect for quads. The high speed tires are an item I have never been comfertable with though. If I'm driving a long distance I like to drive over 70mph especially if im taking the quads. At 70 the trailer tires are going like 120 mph. That would make me nurvous as hell. JMHO

You bring up a good point, I havdn't noticed the tires were tiny! I've got bigger tires on my DS! I think I would have to agree, I've taken my trailer a lot faster than the law states a vehicle with trailer say you're supposed to go and I never have to worry, but a trailer with baby tires like that or one of those cheap U-Haul deals might not be such a good thing. From the looks of that trailer you might not have enough room for larger tires, meaning you have to get used to the idea of the small ones.

A customer of mine bought the trailer for $2600. Weeks later he had a death in the family and had to take over the family business.
Well,,,,he needed to get rid of some things,,,,so I payed off the (never used) trailer note which was $1801. Yippeee
Its a Leonard 6'x6'x12'. Empty it weighs about 1400lbs. I have added some weight by installing a closet where the side door is and beefing up the axle, springs and adding brakes.

I agree, I dont like the baby tires. I just found it and thought it might fit his needs. I bought a utility trailer, because it had nice regular size tires and it was a good deal.

On the enclosed trailer thing, I can pick them up for about the same ballpark depending on brand. I was looking at a 24' enclosed car trailer and could get it for about $4000, so I would think you could get a pretty good deal on the smaller enclosed trailers.

I actually saw some awhile ago, that were slightly used that could be picked up for $2500 and up they were in the 24' plus range. They ranged in size, and ammenities, but can be found. Shop around and you can find some smokin deals. Especially when the economy is down like now.

Batoutofhell is right. Shop around,,,,and never pay sticker. The trailer places around here are real proud of their stuff. 5'x10' enclosed, $3800,,,,,bahhh, what a joke.

Those small tires are a no go. I would only get one like that if you plan to pull it locally at low speed. 14" or 15" wheels are the way to go.
