Default Ron Wood CDI?

I was just wondering if the Ron Wood CDI box is worth the money, and what is the ideal rpm to shift at? And I was also wondering with a high compression piston should you run with a higher octane, if so what octane?

The cdi boxes are well worth the money. I got my bike piped and jetted and would hit the rev. limiter way to fast. So any of the boxes are worth the money. As for higher compression pistons it depends on the compression you go with.

The CDI is the best performance value for the money you will ever spend on your DS. It’s a must!

The cdi box is worth every penny. I could not believe the differance after I installed it. You have to remember that the box also changes the ignition curve as well as raising the limit. Makes mid range power with a pipe and proper jetting better as well !!!

I would call TVI in OR they have a new msd system. Lots better than the other box's because its adjustable where the others are not so you can tune it to your compression ration and or riding style. It also has a differant coil thats puts out 4x's that of the stock one. As for shift points well that depends on what you have done to the engine so far.. usally you what to shift just after peak horse power so that when you take the next gear it lands right at the base of the peak horse so you have max accleration..
The compressions rations that you can run right up to about 11.5 to 1 on 92octane gas. After that you'll need to get higher octane.. but there are some problems with that... it really depends the type of piston, type of fuel leaded/unleaded, how rich you run it, speed you run at, ALT., etc. I'm running 110 leaded race fuel with my 13 to1..
