Default Trinity-Noise Noise Noise

So Jan 1st, 2003 has come and gone. I live in California and am now subject to the 96db noise limit. I bought the Trinity stage IV system in november. This system is really loud. I see Trinty has a spark arrestor and a noise reduction add on kit for the Suzuki Z400, but do not see anything for the DS system. I have Emailed Trinity tech support, no response yet, asking for the DS kit. Has anyone bought the kit from Trinity yet, and if so does it meet the 96db limit? It looks like it is now going to cost about $57 more dollars for my Stage IV bringing the total to around $600.00.

Bottom line, The Stage IV system works really well from idle to wide open. Mukini 190 main, air box cover off.

Since nobody replied I guess no one who reads this has bought one yet.
I talked to Harry at Trinity yesterday. He does have a DS kit to lower the noise level, But, He has not yet tested the noise level with the "db" meter to see if it will meet the 96db limit set in California. He also sells a "Super Trapp" add on that he is sure will cut the noise to the restrited level, but also states it will take "HP" with it. He is working on a noise reduction product that may turn out to actually ADD HP! Tests with his Banshee system are looking great (+2HP).

Have you been harrased yet at any OHV? I've heard that people were turned away at Hollister and was alittle scared going there with my big gun but didn't encounter any sound checks yet.

The maker's of exhaust systems are going to have to deal with the sound issue. I have seen some setups with dual mufflers all look ugly. The best so far as sound goes is MPBR set-up. I did get my system in the Graydon Proline system down to 94 db with 12 discs.

I Think it would make sense to develope a dual exhaust system for the DS,and raptor to get the noise down and maintain good flow. Not to mention if done right it would be great looking!
